It is highly likely that most of us will have some papers which can be used as a formal means of identification: certificate, driving license, passport or identify card. There are certain situations when we need to be able to prove who we are and photocopies won't do, it it's sensible to keep these invaluable documents in a safe place. What happens then, if for example you are on holiday and your passport is stolen? You have to go to your embassy or consulate and apply for an emergency passport, but how can you prove who you are? In cases like this, of course, it is advisable to have photocopies of all relevant documents. But at home, how many companies have access to confidential information about your financial status, criminal record (if any) of creditworthiness? We like to think that we have relative anonymity but the reality is very different. Sadly, we are all just numbers in a huge computer system and at the touch of button, some bureaucrat somewhere can read all about you?
How many times did you lost your identification? How did it affect you? What did you do then? Did have have any plan to prevent happening in the future?
